Following its premiere at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Mazda CX-30 has now launched in the United Kingdom. However, you’ll have to wait at least until January to take delivery, as that’s when the first units will arrive in the country.

Bridging the gap between the CX-3 and the CX-5, the CX-30 is offered in five trim levels: SE-L, SE-L Lux, Sport Lux, GT Sport and GT Sport Tech. Pricing starts at £22,895 ($27,867/€25,315), £3,500 ($4,260/€3,870) more than the entry-level CX-3 and £2,705 ($3,292/€2,990) less than the larger CX-5.

Even the base trim features a generous list of standard equipment, including LED headlights, head-up display and radar cruise control. The SE-L and SE-L Lux sit on 16-in grey metallic wheels, whereas from the Sport Lux onwards, it gets an 18-inch set. The GT Sport and GT Sport Tech sport black leather with brown accents inside and, for an extra £200 ($243/€221), stone colored leather. Depending on the selected grade, the CX-30 also packs the Bose premium audio, 360-degree cameras, heated steering wheel and a host of safety systems.

The engine lineup consists of two petrol fours paired to a 24V mild-hybrid system. The 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G, with cylinder deactivation, connected to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, delivering 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW), is offered across all five trim levels. The 2.0-liter SkyActiv-X, on the other hand, pushes out 180 PS (177 hp / 132 kW) and, from the Sport Lux grade, is available with Mazda’s i-Activ all-wheel drive system as an option.
