Pininfarina announced its collaboration with Bosch Engineering and Benteler over the joint development of a high-performance EV platform that will underpin future Automobili Pininfarina models.
The three companies will evaluate the best technical platform concept and examine whether to offer it to other car makers in order “to attain added synergies and enable a more rapid adoption” of electric vehicles across all market segments.

Pininfarina is currently developing the Battista electric hypercar, which is using most of components with the Rimac C Two. The new platform will help the brand to expand to other segments with new luxury performance EV models.
“While other EV platforms are being developed, this collaboration marks the first initiative among three world-class partners to develop a platform specifically tailored to the luxury and performance electric vehicle plans of Automobili Pininfarina and potentially other carmakers looking to make progress in this sector,” said Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina.
Pininfarina’s future plans include the introduction of three new SUVs and one more mystery model that will be developed under the brand’s Pura Vision design model and its three values: beautiful design, exceptional luxury and thrilling performance.
The company didn’t reveal further technical details on the planned EV architecture, which is previewed by an official rendered image. The image shows a classic EV platform that features the battery pack mounted on the floor between the axles and the motors on the front and rear axles.
“The greatest challenge is turning this flexible concept and theory into reality and doing so at a pace that will support the rapid growth in EV demand,” added Dr Christian Jung, Chief Technical Officer, Automobili Pininfarina. “We are confident that our collaboration with Bosch Engineering and BENTELER will enable us to be successful in overcoming these challenges as we further assess the potential of a platform to address the unique requirements of a range of true luxury performance electric cars.”
