Fresh off the Porsche Taycan making its long-awaited debut, designer Kleber Silva has rendered what a future 718 Cayman could look like if it were to take design inspiration from the new all-electric sedan.
Making the Taycan immediately stand out from all other Porsches are the uniquely-shaped headlights that have been nicely incorporated into the bodywork. The 718 rendered features exactly the same headlights and they actually look pretty good.

The current 718 Cayman and Boxster sport oval-shaped headlights similar to those on the 911. The fitment of lights more similar to those from the Taycan would represent a radical departure and inevitably trigger a lot of debate if Porsche ever updated its mid-engined sports car to look like this.
The Taycan-inspired theme continues at the rear, with a similar LED light bar stretching across the back. The light isn’t totally straight, however, making for a rather wonky look, but nevertheless, this photo gives you a good idea of how the EV’s taillights translate to the Cayman.
A few days ago, Porsche indicated that electric versions of the Boxster and Cayman are a good idea for the future. If such vehicles were to see the light of day, they wouldn’t use the same PPE platform as the Taycan and upcoming Audi e-tron GT but a new architecture, meaning they wouldn’t launch until 2022 at the earliest.
