Production Of The New BMW M3 To Commence In March 2020?

Production of the all-new M3 could kick off in March next year, but the sports sedan may not arrive in the United States until November 2020.

BMW has been testing the latest M3 and M4 for quite some time now and doesn’t appear to be in a huge rush to bring the duo to the market. Members over at the Bimmer Post forums believe the M3 could be unveiled early next year before entering production in March. That’s good news for fans who have been patiently waiting for the car to be released.

Interestingly, an unveiling of the new M3 early next year means the performance-focused sedan will debut before the regular 4-Series has been shown to the world. As the 3-Series’coupe version hasn’t been officially launched yet, it’s logical to ASSUME that the range-topping M4 won’t premiere for quite some time after the M3, perhaps in late 2020 or early 2021.

BMW recently previewed the design of the new 4-Series with a concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show that raised more than a few eyebrows due to its huge vertical front grille. Recent M3 and M4 prototypes have indicated that a grille similar to this will make its way into production, inevitably ruffling more than a few feathers.

From a performance standpoint, the new compact M cars are promising to be significantly improved compared to the previous-generation models. Power will be provided by BMW’s latest twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six from the X3 and X4 M, with 473 HP in standard form and 503 HP in the Competition.
