Tesla has started rolling out its long-awaited V10.0 car software complete with numerous new features for the automaker’s family of models.
Perhaps the most significant update is the ‘Smart Summon’ feature, available in cars equipped with the optional $5000 full-self driving package. This piece of technology allows owners to control their vehicles through the Tesla app and automatically have the car pull out from a parking space and collect them.
This feature has been available to select customers through a limited preview beta for quite some time, but it has not been available to all customers with the full-self driving option, Tech Crunch reports.

Also new for the V10.0 software is Tesla Theater Mode, which syncs up the infotainment system to an owner’s Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu/Hulu+ accounts. These streaming services will only be available to use when the car is safely in Park. Native Spotify support has also been added. Over in China, podcast and audiobook streaming service Ximalaya has been added alongside TV/movie streaming services IQiyi and Tencent Video. Tesla Theater Mode also provides access to Tesla vehicle tutorials.
Meanwhile, those wanting to channel their inner Beyonce will be able to do just that with a ‘Car-aoke’ mode that adds an in-car karaoke system featuring a huge library of music and lyrics. Tesla has also added the game ‘Cuphead’ to its Arcade. Other updates include navigation features that suggest interesting restaurants and sightseeing spots, plus a file system tweak that separates videos captured by the car’s camera in Dashcam and Sentry Modes.
