Following months of teasers, Porsche is finally ready to take the wraps off the all-new Taycan.
Given this is one of the company’s most important models, it’s being given a simultaneous debut on three different continents. Each location was selected because it highlights sustainable energy and is an important market for Porsche.
As a result, the North American debut will take place at Niagara Falls which is known for its beauty and hydroelectric power stations. The European debut will take place outside Berlin at a solar farm, while the Asian unveiling will occur at a wind farm on Pingtan Island which is approximately 93 miles (150 miles) away from the Chinese city of Fuzhou.

The event will start at 3 PM CEST (9 AM EST) and last approximately half an hour. It will be hosted by Formula 1 driver Mark Webber and broadcast in five different languages including English, Mandarin, Spanish, French and German.
Full details should be announced during the unveiling, but Porsche has already confirmed a handful of details leading up to the event. In the past few weeks, the company revealed the Taycan set a new Nürburgring lap record for four-door electric vehicles with a time of 7 minutes and 42 seconds. The model can also use 800-volt charging stations and this enabled a prototype to travel 2,128.1 miles (3424.8 km) in just 24 hours.
A variety of variants are expected, but the launch model is slated to have two electric motors that produce a combined output in excess of 592 hp (441 kW / 600 PS). This will enable the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds and travel more than 310 miles (500 km) on a single charge in the New European Driving Cycle.
Furthermore, the company unveiled the Taycan’s interior last month and it’s a high-tech tour de force as it features a 16.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch infotainment system and an 8.4-inch touchscreen that provides easy access to climate control settings. There will also be a host of options including eco-friendly leather and an optional display for the front seat passenger.
