The outgoing Honda Jazz / Fit is about to be replaced by the fourth generation, which will debut on October 23 at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.
Announcing its presence at the car event in Japan is a teaser image that previews the profile. You might think that it looks virtually identical to the outgoing iteration, yet spy shots have revealed that it will indeed be different, with significant updates at both ends, a more curvaceous overall styling, larger front quarter windows, slimmer A pillars and a two-bar grille.

Inside, Honda’s all-new subcompact hatchback features a redesigned dashboard panel, as well as new instrument dials, infotainment system and several buttons and knobs. The steering wheel is also new, and further enriching the fresh flair of the car will be different upholsteries and some metallic inserts, “raising the bar in terms of comfort and driver enjoyment”, in the company’s own words.
Powering Europe’s 2020 Jazz will be a two-motor hybrid system said to “provide an exceptional blend of strong and effortless driving performance and impressive fuel economy”. Although not officially confirmed, we assume it’s shared with the Insight, where it develops 151 HP and 197 lb-ft (267 Nm) of torque and is paired to an eCVT (electronic continuously variable transmission).
Coinciding with the official premiere of the new Jazz / Fit in Japan will be a media preview hosted in Amsterdam, which will be streamed live next Wednesday at 12:30 CET (6:30 a.m. EST). Joining the new Jazz / Fit on stage at the Tokyo Motor Show will be the Accord and e electric subcompact hatchback.
