2020 Infiniti QX50 Gains New Tech And Two Range-Topping Trims

The Infiniti QX50 was redesigned for the 2019 model year, but the crossover is entering 2020 with a handful of updates.

First and foremost, the QX50 comes equipped with a new InTouch infotainment system. It features an upper 8-inch display as well as a lower 7-inch touchscreen. The system also comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Besides the technology updates, the QX50 lineup has been expanded with two new trim levels. Both sit at the top of the range and come nicely equipped.

Starting with the 2020 QX50 Sensory, the model features “Ice Cube” LED headlights, LED fog lights and an adaptive front lighting system. The crossover also has a panoramic moonroof, roof rails and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, drivers will find heated leather front seats, a heated steering wheel and a Bose premium audio system. Other highlights include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, GPS navigation and HomeLink connectivity.

The model comes equipped with an assortment of driver assistance systems including intelligent cruise control, blind spot intervention, lane departure intervention and distance control assist. This is on top of features such as high beam assist, rear cross traffic alert, rear automatic braking and forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

Buyers looking for something more upscale can opt for the new QX50 Autograph. It comes loaded with high-end features including a head-up display, direct adaptive steering and ProPILOT Assist. The latter can be used on the highway and it controls the acceleration, braking and steering of the vehicle.

Other features on the QX50 Autograph include semi-aniline leather seats, a tri-zone climate control system and heated / ventilated front seats. The model also has a motion activated liftgate and traffic sign recognition technology.

As before, the QX50 is powered by a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder engine with a variable compression ratio. It develops 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) of torque. The engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission which can be paired with an optional all-wheel drive system.

The 2020 QX50 is slated to arrive at dealerships this fall and pricing starts at $37,250 – a slight increase of $600.
