In case we didn’t have enough pictures of the 2020 Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet to quench your curiosity last time, our spies spotted what appears to be the same camouflage-free prototype testing on the Nurburgring again. We still think that it will arrive within the next few months as a 2020 model. Get a closer look at it below.  Updated 10/28/2019

Porsche doesn’t bother camouflaging its 992 test prototypes anymore because why would it?

After all, the Carrera and Carrera S versions are already out, both in Coupe and Cabriolet body styles, and it’s not like the latest 911 generation looks that different from its predecessors anyway. One of the most exciting models in a plethora of 911 derivatives expected to arrive is the 911 GTS, which we already saw in Coupe guise a little while ago.

Now it’s time to check it out in Cabriolet form as a prototype got snapped on the Nürburgring completely undisguised. As with the Coupe, the 911 GTS Cabrio features center-locking wheels just like a 911 GT3 but it’s obviously a convertible so it adds a folding soft top that the test driver kept raised for maximum performance during the Nürburgring test laps.

Other model-specific styling elements include the black-painted alloys in an exclusive design, as well as a black exterior treatment for the window and bumper trims. Also part of the GTS package are the smoked headlights, clear taillights, and black badging.

Compared to lesser 911 models, the GTS also adopts sportier bumpers with bigger air intakes at the front and sport exhausts at the back. Furthermore, the 911 GTS Cabriolet’s rear license plate is mounted higher for a more balanced look.

Performance-wise, given that the 911 GTS is positioned above the 911 Carrera S which now offers 450 PS (444 HP), expect the 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine to deliver at least 480 PS (473 HP). Transmission choices should include a standard six-speed manual transmission and an optional seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic.

Expect the all-new Porsche 911 GTS to debut in early 2020 in both Coupe and Cabriolet body styles, with deliveries to follow later in the year.
