Chevrolet is debuting a brand new look for its Colorado midsize truck range and kicking things off is the 2021 ZR2 model, which will make its public debut at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the 2021 Colorado will make its first public appearance on October 10 at the 2019 Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic.
According to Chevy, the Colorado range will now feature greater differentiation from trim to trim, as well as a new ‘Sand Dune Metallic’ exterior paint for Z71 and ZR2 models.
“We’ve sold 520,000 Colorado pickups in five years through a relentless, foot-on-the-gas approach to product and feature updates,” stated Chevy Trucks marketing boss Bob Krapes. “With its new-look front end and tailgate, Colorado will now have a more aggressive appearance to match its award-winning capability.”
Visually, updated center bars, lower fascias and front skid plates await WT, LT and Z71 Colorado models. At the same time, WT and LT models will gain brand new gold Chevy bowtie logos, while the Z71 gets a black bowtie.
As for the ZR2 off-road performance variant, this will be the only Colorado version to feature the all-new, lettered, flow-through “Chevrolet” front fascia, which is said to provide the driver with improved visibility. It also makes the truck look more aggressive, which was the goal all along.

For 2021, the ZR2 will also gain red tow hooks as standard, to go with features such as the Multimatic DSSV position-sensitive dampers, standard front and rear electronic locking differentials, 2-inch suspension lift, 3.5-inch wider track, off-road rocker protection, cast iron control arms, Autotrac transfer case and multiple skid plates.
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado will go on sale next year, with pricing to be announced at a later date.
