Thought the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² couldn’t be made any more extreme? Well, this example shows that with some bold armor, it can be turned into a vehicle that would look right at home in a war zone.

A German company dubbed Gruma is behind the G500 4×4² you see pictured. It was created in collaboration with Armored Car Systems, who took inspiration from the armored patrol G-Class vehicles used by the German Armed Forces that offers protection against assault rifle ammunition and anti-tank mines.

Power still comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 416 HP, like the standard model, although the added weight of all the armor would certainly have an adverse effect on the vehicle’s performance. Those behind the crazy project first equipped the G-Wagen with a set of armored wheels before going to town on the bodywork and cladding it with thick armor.

The vehicle, dubbed Enok P1, is said to protect against anti-tank mines and assault rifle ammunition just like the versions used by the German Armed Forces. It also happens to look pretty badass.

Inside, it appears to be just as luxurious as the regular G500 4×4² and features a host of carbon fiber parts as well as black leather and Alcantara surfaces, proving that you can have a car that’s comfortable to ride in while still offering extreme levels of protection.

It remains to be seen how much buying this armored G500 4×4² will set back any tempted customers, as the price hasn’t been disclosed, but it certainly won’t be cheap.
