If you appreciate rare colorways, then you might want to read up on this 1990 Porsche 944 S2, wearing a special shade of red dubbed Zyclam Red Pearl Metallic.
Its owner believes that this might be one of less than ten 944s painted Zyclam Red Pearl – and that seems to be the general consensus on Porsche specialist forums, even though we didn’t manage to find production numbers for each color. If true, then it surely adds more value to the car. Otherwise, this appears to be a well-kept Porsche, despite having 84,950 miles (136,713 km) on the clock.
While rare, the paint does have a few rock chips on the front end, as well as a small nick on the passenger rear quarter panel, as visible in the photo gallery. Visually, the original 16-inch alloys stand out too and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Inside, we’re dealing with a black leather cabin which withstood the test of time pretty well considering the vehicle’s age. There’s also an upgraded Blaupunkt radio, heated electric sports seats, an additional amplifier, air conditioning and more. Unfortunately, the cruise control system is said to work only sometimes.

Power meanwhile comes from a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder unit with approximately 208 HP. Everything is sent to the rear wheels with the help of a 5-speed manual transmission, and in the PCarMarket ad, the seller states that the car stands “in perfect turn-key condition”.
Also, this past year alone, nearly $10,000 were said to have been invested in the car in the form of a new original windshield with antenna, new master cylinder, clutch kit, rear main seal, pressure plate bolt, crankshaft seal, new engine mounts, gear oil, new gear shift lever, engine bay water channel, timing belt kit, balance shaft belt, camshaft sleeve and others.
The A/C unit was also recharged and the previously-mentioned Michelin tires are new as well.
