Get A SEMA Load Of Mopar’s Slammed Dodge Lowliner Restomod And RAM Truck

Mopar is scheduled to unveil two new pickup truck concepts at this year’s SEMA Show, Nov 5-8, 2019.

“These vehicles showcase how Mopar is constantly expanding and exploring new ideas to meet the needs and fuel the imagination of our passionate fans,” stated Mark Bosanac, head of Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care for FCA North America. “Whether it’s overlanding in remote locations or reimagining an alternative classic design history, Mopar has its customers covered.”

In total, the tuner will display no fewer than 14 customized vehicles and hundreds of Mopar products as part of its exhibit in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Ram 1500 Rebel OTG Concept

Here, OTG stands for Off The Grid, which is pretty obvious really. This truck is based on the new 2020 Ram 1500 equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. It also comes with Mopar’s two-inch lift kit, beadlock wheels and 35-inch Goodyear tires.

Meanwhile, Mopar accessories include the front bumper with integrated winch, a larger grille with flow-through RAM badging, a functional snorkel air intake, front and rear wheel flares, step assist rock rails, concept rear bumper and a bed rack system.

The latter carries a collapsible rooftop tent, which can be accessed via a stowable ladder. Inside the truck, there is a battery-powered cooler and kitchen unit with a stove and sink, plus additional storage space for tools and equipment above the cab. Then there’s the solar panel set, which can generate electricity.

Last but not least, there are LED off-road driving lamps, supplemental LED backup lamps, a Mojave Sand exterior finish, unique interior accents and a Mopar Rebel hood graphic.

“Unlike traditional ‘four-wheeling,’ in overlanding the journey is the final objective. The goal is to explore rather than conquer obstacles,” said Joe Dehner, head of Ram Truck and Mopar Design. “This is why we developed this concept, to allow vehicle-supported, self-reliant adventure travel, typically exploring remote locations and interacting with other cultures. This is the vehicle that I’d like to have whenever I choose to go ‘off the grid.”

Lowliner Concept

This is a 1968 Dodge D200-series heavy-duty pickup, although thanks to Mopar designers, it’s now called the Lowliner Concept, featuring a Candied Delmonico Red and Dairy Cream exterior, a lowered ride height, lengthened wheelbase, a custom front end for the 5.9-liter Cummins diesel and plenty more.

The front axle was moved three inches forward on the frame, thus pushing the front wheels closer to the edges of the truck. Mopar then added a custom air suspension with three modes: low, driving height and driving height plus.

The wheels feature a “smoothie” look to mimic something from the late 60s and measure 22-inches by 9.5 inches in the front and 22-inches by 11 inches at the rear, for a more muscular appearance.

Further mods include the seven-inch LED headlights, custom taillights with integrated backup lights, an Mopar Omega M logo on the front fenders, and the vintage Dodge graphic on the tailgate.

As for the interior, the truck’s original bench seat is now covered in an orange-amber Blazing Saddle Tan leather with a distressed look, while the leather headliner has the Omega M logo stitched into it. The tuner actually retained the original 1968 steering wheel, but chose to revamp the instrumentation with seven custom gauges mounted to the aluminum panel.

But wait, there’s more

Mopar will also display more than 200 accessories for the Jeep Wrangler, and in turn will show off a Wrangler Rubicon accessorized with concept tube door mirrors and skins.

That vehicle also comes with a one-piece stamped steel front bumper with integrated fog lights, a two-inch lift kit, cold-air intake, winch kit, tow hooks on the top and ‘D-ring’ attachments at the bottom.

Other Mopar vehicles coming to SEMA include the Challenger Mopar ’19, a heritage-inspired Gladiator Scrambler, the Gladiator J6 Moab concepts, the 1958 Plymouth Fury from the movie “Christine” and the tuner’s latest take on the Ram ProMaster beer truck.
