Lamborghini has suggested that its potential fourth model could be its first all-electric vehicle and according to Autocar, it may take the shape of a sedan.
According to Lamborghini research and development boss Maurizio Reggiani, the Italian car manufacturer could use an existing platform from within the Volkswagen Group for such a model. The PPE platform developed by Porsche and Audi and similar to the J1 platform of the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT is the most likely option.

“If you look at the timing for a fourth model line, there is the potential that this will be the right time for a full-electric vehicle,” Reggiani said. “Performance will be important [in a 2+2]. We must be fast but not quite in the same way as we need to be in our super-sports cars. A fourth model line will be something a little bit different.”
If VW does give Lamborghini the go-ahead to production an all-electric sedan, it could be positioned as an even faster alternative to the Porsche Taycan and upcoming Audi e-tron GT. Such a vehicle would inevitably take design inspiration from the Urus SUV while perhaps launching with a similar overall shape to the memorable Estoque concept from a decade ago.
Before such a car is to launch, however, Reggiani said Lamborghini must first consolidate the Urus family.
“We first need to establish and consolidate the Urus line. It took 10 years to establish our V10 model, from when the Gallardo launched in 2003 through to the Huracán, so we need to make sure we do the same with the Urus.”
