Local news has a tendency to be cringeworthy, but the antics of one reporter at a car show will probably make your blood boil.

As you can see in this clip posted to Facebook, Angel Cardenas was reporting from the Sacramento International Auto Show on Sunday for Good Day Sacramento. While that’s not too unusual, Cardenas’ behavior was absolutely appalling.

The segment starts off innocently enough as Cardenas chats with the show’s hosts and explains there are over 500 cars at this year’s event. Things quickly take a turn for the worse as Cardenas says “no one is out here to tell me which cars I can’t go in,” so he decides to “go on the wild side.”

Cardenas then jumps on the back of a Ford Thunderbird and awkwardly poses for a few seconds. He then decides to get into a car and this goes even worse as he slams the driver’s side door into the vehicle sitting next to it.

If that wasn’t bizarre enough, Cardenas sprints to a Ford display where he eyes an Explorer Hybrid. He then asks an insane question, “Can I just finish up this live shot posing on the hood for my friends” back at the studio?

Despite a sign saying please keep off the displays, which Cardenas acknowledges, he ducks underneath the railing and jumps on the hood like an idiot. The segment quickly ends as someone off camera yells to get off the car.

Needless to say, the entire incident was insane and should have never happened. Unsurprisingly, the station was flooded with e-mails and Facebook comments criticizing Cardenas and his behavior.

The Sacramento International Auto Show reached out to the station’s general manager following the “astonishingly awful incident.” The general manager later called back to say Cardenas was “terminated immediately.”
