The 2019 Tokyo Motor Show that starts on October 23 for the international media and two days later for the public, will be ground zero for several world premieres.
One of them will be Lexus’ new electric vehicle concept that was teased today ahead of an unveiling next month. According to the initial announcement, the as-of-yet-unnamed show car is an autonomous, battery-electric model.
“Leveraging continued advances in technologies such as electrification and autonomous driving, the electrified concept offers a glimpse into Lexus’ future vision, which caters to consumers who are equally passionate about driving and uniquely crafted luxury experiences.”

Accompanying the short press release is a teaser that casts a light on the front end of the car, which features large creases in the front bumper, positioned under the slim headlamps with light animation that flank the spindle grille.
It’s impossible to say with certainty what shape the study has from this image, but at a first glance, it appears to have been inspired by the LF-SA Concept presented in 2015 (seen in the above below). If that’s the case, then we’re looking at a driver-oriented small hatchback with seating for four, likely packed with new technologies, such as a crystalline instrument panel with hologram display.

For now, however, we would not entirely exclude the possibility of a different body style. In any case, you can try to decipher the mystery by taking a closer look at the adjacent image and video.
