The Polestar 2 electric fastback is scheduled to go into production in early 2020, with first deliveries penciled in for June. Prospective buyers can already place their order online, with pricing starting from €58,800 ($64,460) in Germany.

UK pricing has already been announced (£49,900), as for the other launch markets, the costs are as follows: Norway – NOK 469,000, Sweden SEK 659,000, the Netherlands €59,800 and Belgium €59,800.

Guide pricing for North America is still estimated at $63,000, with a finalized number to follow at a later date. All prices include VAT, routine servicing and maintenance for the first three years.

“We have seen very keen interest in Polestar 2 since revealing it earlier this year. By confirming European pricing, we show the outstanding value this high specification vehicle represents,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.

Initial production models are said to boast particularly strong specifications, including options such as the Pilot package and the Plus package. Other features include Pilot Assist, a panoramic roof and an Android Automotive OS-powered infotainment system.

The latter is a first for any vehicle and is said to deliver the best in-car digital experience with the aid of Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store. Also included is the Phone-as-Key feature, plus a Harman Kardon premium sound system.

As for performance, the Polestar 2 comes with a two electric motor setup for a combined output of 402 HP (300 kW) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of torque. Its 78 kWh battery offers an estimated range of 275 miles (EPA) or 500 km (WLTP), while 0-62 mph (100 km/h) takes less than 5 seconds.
