The upcoming Genesis GV80 SUV looks set to be available with at least three different engines, depending on the market.

At the recent Hyundai-Kia International Powertrain Conference held in Seoul, South Korea, Hyundai announced that the GV80 will receive a petrol-powered, turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a petrol 3.5-liter V6, and a 3.0-liter diesel inline-six.

Korean Car Blog notes that the 3.5-liter T-GDi is of particular interes,t as it will have an output of 374 HP and 390 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque. This engine will also incorporate an upgraded cooling system and a new dual fuel-injection system, which directly injects fuel into the combustion chamber as well as injecting the inlet port of the combustion chamber.

As for the new diesel engine, it is good for 278 HP and 434 lb-ft (588 Nm) of torque. Horsepower and torque figures for the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine haven’t been announced yet. Hyundai will also introduce a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with the GV80, although it remains to be seen if it will be mated to all three of the aforementioned engines.

It had previously been reported that the Genesis GV80 could land with a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 with 365 HP and 376 lb-ft (509 Nm) from the G70 3.3T, but that no longer seems to be the case. Nevertheless, it’s quite possible that the new engines that will be introduced in the GV80 will later be used by other Hyundai, Genesis and Kia models as well.
