Updated Lexus RX Arrives In The UK, Priced From £52,705

The revised Lexus RX is getting launched in the United Kingdom, bringing new tech and safety features alongside some mild design changes.

Lexus has refreshed the exterior look of the RX by adding new slimmer headlight units, a new mesh pattern for the brand’s signature front grille, more rounded edges to the front bumper and a new character line from the rocker panel that connects with the bottom of the grille.

At the rear we find a redesigned bumper while the LED taillights now feature a new lighting signature that features a series of ‘L’ motifs.

The biggest interior upgrade is the new 12.3-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system which now also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new touchscreen display has been moved further forward to be within easy reach from the driver and front passenger. The system can be alternatively operated by a new trackpad and voice control. An onboard WiFi hotspot with a free three-month/24GB data plan is also standard.

Lexus has also upgraded the chassis of the new RX by using laser screw welding, additional spot welds and a high-strength adhesive at key points to make it more rigid. The suspension has also been improved with a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, more rigid hubs and the addition of a Friction Control Device in the dampers to reduce high-frequency vibrations from the road.

In addition, RX F Sport models get the Adaptive Variable Suspension that debuted on the LC Coupe model. The crossover’s stability control system is also upgraded with an Active Cornering Assist function while the electric power steering has been retuned for a more linear feel and better line-tracing.

F Sport and Takumi models also get the Bladescan Adaptive High-Beam System, which features a rapidly rotating blade-shaped mirror to direct light from the LED headlights.

Prices for the updated Lexus RX model kick off at £52,705 for the base RX with Premium Pack and can reach all the way up to £62,605 for the RX L Takumi.
