A 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has avoided smashing into the ground after the lift on a transport truck carrying it didn’t operate as it should.
While it is unclear where the incident occurred, the images shared on Facebook by user Greg Hunter show an orange 2019 Corvette ZR1 resting at a near 45-degree angle after one of the cables used by the truck’s lift mechanism reportedly failed.
Fortunately, the car was adequately strapped down to the trailer so, despite the steep angle, it didn’t slip off and fall to the pavement below – which, needless to say, wouldn’t have been a pretty sight…
A couple of images added to the original Facebook post show that a recovery vehicle had to be called which used its powerful lift and a series of strong straps to pull the sports car up off the trailer before slowly putting it down.

In other ‘Vette news, it was confirmed last week that the market launch of the 2020 Corvette Stingray has been pushed back, with production not set to commence until February 2020 due to the six-week UAW strike at various GM plants.
“Due to the work stoppage, we have had to adjust timing on the launch of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Production will now begin in February 2020 at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant,” Chevrolet spokesman Christopher Bonelli confirmed.
Deliveries of the long-awaited, mid-engined C8 Corvette were initially scheduled for the end of this year, while the strikes also mean that a number of C7 models are still waiting to be built.
