The new generation of the Audi RS6 Avant is the first one to ever set foot on US soil, and as such fans of the bloated super wagon on this side of the Atlantic are screaming with joy; at least online that is.
Audi has released a new image gallery showing the 2020 RS6 Avant in Malibu, where the company invited the press for a first drive.
Before the 2020 Audi RS6 Avant was announced for the US market, fans of the brand were never offered a taste of the RS6, with the exception of the first generation that was available only in sedan for a single model year in 2003.

Power comes from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that pumps out 592 HP (600 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. As you would expect, the Quattro all-wheel drive has been beefed up with both a Torsen and a torque vectoring differential.
Straight-line performance is as expected quite bonkers for a vehicle of this type; Audi claims a 0-62mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, 0-124 mph (200km/h) in 12 seconds and a top speed of up to 190 mph (305 km/h).
One of the strongest traits of the Audi RS6 has always been its styling, and the new generation simply nails it thanks to these gorgeous flared wheel arches, the 22-inch wheels and the distinct front end with its wider Singleframe grille.
The chassis is offered with two suspension options; entry-level models come fitted with a specially tuned RS adaptive air suspension while a steel sprung option is also on offer. Add to that Audi’s all-wheel steering, a new launch control and plenty of driving modes to suit every need and it’s not that hard to imagine the new RS6 as the perfect car for every use.
