The highly anticipated BMW M2 CS has been outted as Jalopnik has posted pictures and details about the upcoming model.
Set to celebrate the coming end of the current 2-Series coupe, the M2 CS features a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 444 hp (331 kW / 450 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This is a significant improvement over the M2 Competition which is rated at 405 hp (301 kW / 410 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque.
The engine reportedly comes paired to a standard six-speed manual transmission which enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.0 seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will also be available and it lowers the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 3.8 seconds.

Of course, the upgrades don’t end there as the CS has been equipped with an Adaptive M suspension and a sports exhaust system with electronically-controlled valves. The model has also gone on a diet thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber.
There’s no word on much weight has been lost, but the car features a number of carbon fiber components including a front splitter, rear spoiler and hood. The roof is also made from lightweight material and so is the diffuser and mirror caps.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find leather and Alcantara sport seats with contrast stitching and a tri-color accent on the front headrests. Elsewhere, we can see an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, carbon fiber door pulls and a CS-branded accent on the dashboard.
Production will reportedly be limited to 2,200 units and just 500 of them will be headed to the United States. We should learn more later this week and we can also expect to see a new racing variant.
