John Force won his 150th Funny Car race earlier this year and Chevrolet is paying tribute to the drag racing legend by naming a COPO Camaro after him.
Set to be unveiled at SEMA, the 2020 COPO Camaro John Force Edition is a one-off model that features a two-tone exterior with red accents and an American flag graphic on the hood. The car is also unmistakable as it has a graphic of Force’s signature on the hood, dashboard, seat and rear fenders.
Chevrolet didn’t say much else about the special edition, but it features a “2020COPO-FORCE” identification plaque and will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in January. Proceeds will benefit DonorsChoose.org which is an organization that helps to fund schools in need.

In statement, Force said “This is a great-looking COPO Camaro, and I enjoyed helping design this car.” He added, “The COPO Camaro is already a formidable car … but this one is even more special, as it will help support a cause I firmly believe in.”
As for the standard COPO Camaro, it can be equipped with a revised 350 engine that features a Magnuson supercharger as well as all-new LSX-SC cylinder heads. Customers can also opt for a naturally aspirated 427 engine and an available Racer’s Package. The latter adds a carbon fiber air inlet, dual batteries, a parachute and a quick-change coupling for the supercharged engine.
Only 69 units will be available and they’ll be offered in an assortment of colors including a new black and silver scheme inspired by the John Force Edition. Customers can also opt for seven heritage colors from the 1969 Camaro palette including Butternut Yellow, Hugger Orange, Frost Green Poly, Olympic Gold Poly, Garnet Red, Fathom Green Poly and Azure Turquoise Poly.
Besides the COPO Camaro, Chevrolet will showcase an assortment of other vehicles including the Silverado 2500 HD Carhartt Special Edition that unveiled earlier today. It will be joined by a Camaro LT1 Convertible concept, a Silverado Midnight Edition, the 2021 Colorado ZR2 and a couple of Corvettes.
