BMW tuning specialist AC Schnitzer is presenting its first-ever Toyota project in the form of the GR Supra.
This should come as no surprise given the many components shared by the Supra with the BMW Z4 M40i. While AC Schnitzer is among the last aftermarket companies to work on the new Supra, what they did to the Japanese sports car clearly deserves praise. Let’s start with the heart of the GR Supra which is the BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine.
In the stock model it makes 335 HP (340 PS) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. AC Schnitzer has dialed things up to a healthy 394 HP (400 PS) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque.

It may be a modest increase compared to what we’ve seen recently with other tuners, but AC Schnitzer has played it safe, offering a warranty of up to 36 months for the power and torque upgrade. The aftermarket specialist does not reveal the performance specs but the kit obviously improves the Supra’s acceleration and top speed.
Besides working on the engine, AC Schnitzer enhanced the Supra’s soundtrack (and appearance) by fitting a sports rear silencer. Customers can have the two round tailpipes in carbon or black anodized stainless steel.
The chassis also received its fair share of attention, with the German tuner adding an RS coil-over suspension with multiple height, rebound and compression adjustments that make it easy to achieve the perfect setup. As a result, the 2020 Toyota Supra sits 25 mm (1 inch) closer to the ground for a lower center of gravity and enhanced cornering abilities.
AC Schnitzer claims the RS coil-over suspension also provides good driving comfort thanks to its high residual spring travel. Mind you, for customers who only want a lowering kit, the company does offer a suspension spring set that lowers the vehicle by approximately 15 mm (0.6 inches).
In the wheels department, AC Schnitzer can fit the Supra with 20-inch AC1 Light Alloy Rims in BiColor or Anthracite or 20-inch AC3 Lightweight Forged Wheels in Silver/Anthracite or Anthracite/Silver.
As for the body kit, highlights include a matte black add-on front splitter made from ASA (Acrylnitril-Styrol-Acrylester), carbon “Racing” rear wing with optional Gurney flap and aluminum mounts, triangular carbon bonnet vents, and front license plate holder. Inside, a number of components gain an aluminum upgrade: the shift paddles, pedal set with matching footrest, key holder, and cover for the iDrive System Controller.
