If you’re in the market for a large premium family car and don’t mind an estate, you’ll be happy to know that the 2020 Volvo V90 holds its value better than any other model in its class, according to ALG.
This marks the second year in a row in which the V90 has won the ALG Residual Value Award in the premium full size segment. These awards recognize vehicles predicted to hold the highest percentage of their value following a three-year period.
Vehicles are set into 27 segments and evaluated against several parameters such as used vehicle performance, bround outlook and product competitiveness. Only 2020 model year cars were eligible to win this year’s award.

“We are incredibly proud that the V90 has received a Residual Value Award for the second year in a row,” stated Volvo Car USA president & CEO, Anders Gustafsson. “A car purchase is one of the biggest investments a consumer makes, and this recognition gives our V90 customers confidence that they’ve made a smart decision that will retain its value for years to come.”
The 2020 Volvo V90 is priced from $51,450 and is available at nearly 300 retailers nationwide. To be fair, though, these days most buyers in the U.S. looking for a large premium family car go for an SUV.
This means that most V90 buyers are actively looking for this type of vehicle from the get-go, thus adding value to the nameplate. Moreover, it does apparently hold its value better than the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon, a direct rival that starts from $66,100 in the States.
