BMW 328 100th Anniversary Hommage Is A Sharp Speedster That Will Never Be

Say hello to the BMW 328 100th Anniversary Hommage EV, an eye-catching concept created by designer Hae Kyoung Jung.

BMW introduced the 328 in 1936. As a result, the following creation has been imagined for the year 2036, when the car will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The original was a sleek speedster with rear wheel covers and a truly timeless design and also featured a pair of absolutely massive front kidney grilles.

The 100th Anniversary Hommage pictured is, unsurprisingly, adorned with much more angular and aggressive body panels and lines as opposed to the flowing surfaces of the original. At the front, there are a set of relatively small kidney grilles and a pair of sharp LED headlights. The nose itself also sticks out quite a bit and while we’re not sure it would meet pedestrian safety regulations, it definitely looks good.

Much like the original 328, the 100th Anniversary Hommage concept is a speedster although it only features a single seat located right in the center. Another interesting aspect of the concept’s design is the tail that features an elongated decklid and areas just as sharp as the front, while the solid wheel covers can be illuminated blue.

McLaren recently unveiled its very own speedster in the form of the Elva, created as a direct rival to the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2. Unfortunately, there’s very little chance that BMW would follow the leads of McLaren and Ferrari with producing a speedster, as it wouldn’t justify its cost.
