A time machine machine has yet to be invented, so if you want to relive the 1980s, a brand new 1986 Mercedes 560 SEL that’s up for sale is probably the best next thing.
Posted on Mobile.de, the listing says the 33-year-old car has never been on the road and the odo shows only 28 miles (46 km) – the ones it came from the factory with. If that wasn’t special enough, the car has never been registered so, technically, it’s brand new.
The listing doesn’t mention why the car was never registered, but it says the model was “always well kept and maintained.” That is visible in the photos as the vehicle looks immaculate for being over three decades old.

That being said, it’s not perfect, as there appears to be some minor paint blemishes and discoloration in the cabin. However, the seats look like they’ve never been sat on and the interior still has plastic covers as well as tags explaining the control stalks.
The listing doesn’t go into too many specifics, but it says the car has an Astral Silver exterior and a Burgundy leather cabin and is also equipped with power windows and locks, a sunroof and old-school headlight washers. We can also see a refrigerator and an assortment of original documentation.
Power is provided by a 5.5-liter V8 that is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine develops 295 HP (220 kW / 299 PS), which enables the big Merc to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.9 seconds.
Since it’s hard to know how much vehicles like these are worth, the seller entered a listing price of €150,000 ($167,887 / £129,722), which is the car’s original purchase price converted at current exchange rates. The seller openly acknowledged this and noted “It may be difficult to assign a value” to this car.
