Configure Your 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-e Now And Show It To Us

Ford has been accepting reservations for the new Mustang Mach-E electric SUV since last night, launching at the same time its online configurator and giving us the opportunity to start playing with the available options.

Those of you wanting to get first in line before the electric Mustang Mach-E hits the road in late 2020, you’ll need to make a $500 refundable deposit and pick your desired specification. Ford will then ask reservation holders to finalize their configuration when the order books are officially open.

As with pretty much every new model launching into the market, Ford will offer a limited First Edition model, available only in all-wheel drive, 332 HP and with the bigger 98.8kWh battery pack, featuring red brake calipers, contrasting stitching and special ‘First Edition’ badges among others.

The range of the new electric Ford SUV is quite extensive, starting with the base rear-wheel drive Standard Range model that offers 255 HP, a 75.7 kWh battery pack, a 0-60 mph in the low six-seconds and 230 miles (370 km) of estimated EPA range.

Ford will also offer two performance variants; the Mustang Mach-E GT and the GT Performance Edition. Both of them will offer a combined (and estimated) 459 HP and 612 lb-ft (830 Nm) of torque, with the GT targetting a 0-60 mph (96km/h) in under 4 seconds and the GT Performance dropping this to the mid-3s. Both of them get Brembo brakes while the Performance model adding on top the MagneRide adaptive suspension as standard. The first examples of the GT and GT Performance Edition models will be delivered in spring 2021.

Of course we went for the GT model, finished in Shadow Black over a black interior with copper metallic details, including contrast stitching on the seats and center console. The GT version of the Mustang Mach-E also comes with a more aggressive exterior which includes model-specific alloys, different bumpers and that “grille” insert up front.
