With the 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 producing 523 HP (530 PS / 390 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque, the standard BMW M850i xDrive can mix it with some pretty serious machinery straight out of the factory.

However, Dahler has unlocked even more potential, upping the engine’s output to 627 HP (636 PS / 468 kW) and 625 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. This places it right above the new M8 Competition, which enjoys 616 HP (625 PS / 460 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque, and does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, half a second faster than the stock M850i.

An even more neck-snapping upgrade is in the works at Dahler, who can also inject other versions of the modern-day 8-Series with more power. For the 840i, the output increases from 335 hp (340 PS / 250 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque, to 402 hp (408 PS / 300 kW) and 450 lb-ft (610 Nm) of torque. The diesel-powered 840d can churn out 375 hp (380 PS / 280 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm), up 59 hp (60 PS / 44 kW) and 120 Nm (89 lb-ft).
