Ram is honoring those who have served the United States with the 1500 Built to Serve Edition, evocative to the armed forces of the country.

Available on all body styles and powertrains, the pickup trucks boast a special paint finish, as well as exterior and interior updates, in addition to generous equipment.

“Ram wants to honor those who are serving or have served the United States with distinction. For Ram truck owners, whether military or civilian, ‘Built to Serve’ is a maxim that they can be proud to stand behind”, said Ram chief Reid Bigland. “We also want to bring together Ram owners who are not currently serving to make a difference in their communities. We launched our Ram Nation volunteer organization in 2015 as a way to give our Ram truck owners a way to be involved when there’s a need.”

Depending on what special forces it pays tribute to, the 1500 Built to Serve Edition can be had in Gator and Diamond Black, Ceramic Gray and Patriot Blue, Anvil and Billet Silver and Tank and Flame Red. Each paint finish is limited to 1,000 examples, whereas the Spitfire and Bright White come in 500. Other special details on the outside are the U.S. flag and ‘Built to Serve’ decal on the rear quarter panels, body-colored wheel flares, 20-inch rims with Technical Gray look and black grille, bumpers, bezel lighting, badges, side steps and exhaust tips.

On the inside, Ram has fitted the pickup trucks with Velcro panels that can be replaced by the owners’ own patches. The front seatbacks are covered with Pals/Molle webbing that supports attaching extra gear or pouches and the vehicle also gets Black Onyx Chrome trim, ‘Built to Serve’ instrument panel badge, cloth and vinyl sports seats, lockable center storage and all-weather rubber mats.

The special edition 1500s are ready for action with four-wheel drive, electronic-locking rear axle, heavy-duty shock absorbers calibrated for off-roading, hill-descent control, tow hooks, all-terrain tires and underbody skid plates.

Ram will launch a special model of the 1500 Built to Serve Edition every three months. We don’t know what branch the first one reflects, but it will become available on Veterans Day this month.
