After previously tuning the M2 three years ago to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW), McChip-DKR has now launched three power upgrades for the BMW M2 Competition.
At €8,679 ($9,626) in Germany, Stage 3 is a bit on the pricey side, but wait until you see what it would get you: 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) and 750 Nm (533 lb-ft) of torque, an impressive 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) more than the stock M2 Competition. The top speed limiter has been removed, so you’ll be able to hit 315 km/h (196 mph) where the road and legislation allow it.

Stage 2 drops the turbocharger upgrade from the offering, but not the Capristo downpipe and software remap. Thus, the 3.0-liter, twin-turbo straight-six can pump out 545 PS (537 hp / 401 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, for €3,039 ($3,371). Unfortunately, the tuner did not say how quick the sports coupe is to 100 km/h (62 mph) with this kit either, yet it’s still faster than the factory offering, which needs 4.4 seconds to get to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill. Flat out, this version will do 310 km/h (193 mph).
If you’re mindful of your expenses, then perhaps Stage 1 is the best solution. It bumps the power to 530 PS (522 hp / 390 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, lets the car hit 310 km/h (193 mph) and costs €1,499 ($1,663).
Pricing for the M2 Competition starts at €50,050 ($55,511) in Germany and $58,900 on this side of the pond.
