2020 Audi Q7 Facelift Arrives In America With A New 3.0-Liter V6 Engine

Audi introduced the facelifted Q7 in Europe earlier this year and now the company has revealed details about the US-spec crossover.

Looking instantly recognizable, the updated Q7 has a revised grille which now features vertical bars. The crossover also sports a modestly revised bumper and updated lighting units. Rounding out the changes are aluminum-optic skid plates and restyled 19-inch alloy wheels.

The updates continue in the cabin as the Q7 adopts a dual display setup like the Q8. The upper display is a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the lower 8.6-inch display provides access to climate control, comfort and convenience features.

Speaking of the cabin, the Q7 comes nicely equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a tri-zone automatic climate control system and a panoramic sunroof. Buyers will also find ambient lighting, wood trim and heated eight-way power front seats. Other niceties include a multifunction steering wheel and a power folding third row.

An assortment of options will be available including a color head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen 3D advanced sound system. Customers can also order a Luxury package which adds an Alcantara headliner and individual contour Valcona leather front seats with ventilation and massage functions.

Power is provided by a new 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine that produces 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. Compared to its predecessor, the new engine develops an additional 6 hp (4 kW / 6 PS) and 44 lb-ft (60 Nm) of torque.

The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to a standard quattro all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the Q7 to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 5.7 seconds.

On the tech front, there isn’t much to report as many systems carryover. However, there’s a new emergency assist system which can determine if the driver is incapacitated. If this occurs and the driver fails to respond to repeated warnings, the vehicle will eventually bring itself to a halt and activate the hazard lights.

The 2020 Audi Q7 will go on sale shortly and pricing will start at $60,800 – excluding a destination charge of $995.
