Customers interested in the high-spec 2020 Ford Expedition Limited can now make their SUV even more off-road ready by opting for the FX4 package.

It adds special shocks, an all-new electronic limited slip rear differential, seven skid plates, side steps and FX4 badging. You also get 32-inch all-terrain tires on 18-inch metallic gray wheels, plus a full-length guard for the fuel tank and a shortened chin spoiler for an improved approach angle.

“There’s a growing trend in people looking to enjoy rugged terrain without having to give up the refinement, comfort or convenience of getting there,” said Ford Expedition consumer marketing manager, Devin McParlane.

Aside from the enhanced off-road capabilities and underbody protection, the Expedition Limited FX4 also features a 360-degree camera system with split-view, offering both the driver and passenger a better look at the surrounding terrain.

Inside, there are leather-trimmed seats and rich wood accents, but also durable rubber floor liners, to go with the same FX4 badges that can be found on the liftgate and front fender. Meanwhile, onboard tech includes Ford Co-Pilot360 as standard, as well as standard Co-Pilot360 Assist, which adds Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, voice-activated touchscreen navigation and the optional Enhanced Active Park Assist.

As for power, that comes from a 375 HP (380 PS) 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a two-speed 4WD transfer case.

Customers can have the FX4 package fitted to either the standard 2020 Expedition or the extended-length Expedition MAX version.
