Porsche introduced the facelifted Macan last year and now the company has unveiled the updated Macan GTS.

Designed to slot between the Macan S and Macan Turbo, the GTS has a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine that now produces 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS) and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. This is a modest increase of 15 hp (11 kW / 15 PS) and 14 lb-ft (19 Nm).

Thanks to the extra power and a “newly adapted PDK dual-clutch transmission,” the Macan GTS can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in as little as 4.5 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package. The crossover also has a top speed of 162 mph (261 km/h).

Sticking with the performance theme, the GTS features an adaptive air suspension and 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels which are backed up by cast iron brakes that measure 14.1 inches (360 mm) front and 13 inches (330 mm) rear. Customers can also order optional surface coated brakes which are 15.3 inches (390 mm) front and 14 inches (356 mm) rear.  Drivers who want to get the most out of their crossover can step up to ceramic composite brakes which are even larger as they measure 15.6 inches (396 mm) up front and 14.6 inches (370 mm) out back.

On the styling front, the Macan GTS comes standard with the Sport Design package which includes more aggressive fascias and sporty side skirts.  The model also has tinted lighting units, red brake calipers and a sports exhaust system.

The special styling continues in the cabin as designers installed leather and Alcantara sport seats with eight-way power adjustment and pronounced bolsters.  Other highlights include a sport steering wheel and brushed aluminum trim.

An assortment of options will be available including leather upholstery, a Bose audio system and a wireless smartphone charger.  Customers can also opt for a heated windshield, an air ionizer and a Park Assist system with a surround view function.

The 2020 Macan GTS will arrive at US dealerships next summer and pricing will start at $71,300 – excluding a $1,350 delivery, processing and handling fee.  The model is already available to order in Germany where pricing begins at €77,880.
