Ford previewed the 2021 Bronco when they unveiled the Bronco R prototype earlier this year. However, the off-road racer strayed pretty far from the production model as it was designed to compete in the Baja 1000.
While the shape of the Bronco R previews the road-going model, the racer had an unfinished front fascia with seven LED light bars. Those were clearly never intended for production, but now we might have gotten our first glimpse at the model’s headlights.
In a post on Bronco6G, a user uploaded an image of what they claim is a headlight for the U725 Bronco and not the smaller ‘baby’ Bronco. We can’t confirm this, but the picture shows a circular headlight which recalls the one used on the original Bronco.

The headlight assembly also has a reflector and what appears to be an LED turn signal. Jalopnik also believes the there could be a circular LED daytime running light.
Ford hasn’t said much about the Bronco, but the company has already confirmed it will ride on a modified version of the T6 architecture that underpins the Ranger.
When the Bronco R was introduced, Ford Performance off-road racing supervisor Brian Novak said “Even the twin turbos of the EcoBoost engine are representative of what the production Bronco will offer.” That piqued our interest as the statement suggested the road-going model will have a twin-turbo engine and not the Ranger’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder which uses a single turbo.
If that’s the case, the Bronco could come equipped with a twin-turbo 2.7- or 3.5-liter V6. The former produces 325 hp (242 kW / 330 PS), while the latter develops up to 450 hp (336 kW / 456 PS). Both are significantly more powerful than the Ranger’s four-cylinder which is rated at 270 hp (201 kW / 274 PS).
The Bronco will debut next spring and patent filings have suggested it could have removable doors and a hardtop similar to the Jeep Wrangler.
