Chevrolet unveiled the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban earlier this month, and now Cadillac has kicked off the teaser campaign for the 2021 Escalade which debuts on February 4th.
The GMC Yukon and Yukon XL have been notably absent from the conversation, but it appears the 2021 models will be unveiled on January 14th as GM Authority reports the SUVs will be introduced at a special event in Vail, Colorado.
Like the Tahoe and Suburban, the Yukons will feature an all-new design that incorporates styling cues from the Sierra. As seen in previous spy photos, the SUVs will have a prominent grille which is flanked by C-shaped headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. Further back, we can expect streamlined bodywork and unique taillights.

The Yukons will ride on a new platform and feature an independent rear suspension that promises to significantly improve ride quality. The models will also be larger than their predecessors and this will result in a more accommodating interior.
Speaking of the latter, the Yukon should have an additional 10.1 inches (257 mm) of third row legroom and a maximum cargo capacity of 122.9 cubic feet (3,480 liters). The Yukon XL will have an even roomier back seat and a cargo capacity of 144.7 cubic feet (4,097 liters).
We can also expect an upgraded interior with an 8-inch diagonal instrument cluster, a 10-inch infotainment system and a 15-inch head-up display. Of course, there will also be a new Denali variant with premium leather upholstery, wood trim and special accents.
Under the hood, we can expect three different engines. The base unit should be a 5.3-liter V8 that develops 355 hp (265 kW / 360 PS) and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. Customers should also be able to opt for a 6.2-liter V8 that produces 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque. Lastly, we can expect a new 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel with 277 hp (207 kW / 281 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm).
Considering the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban will go on sale in the middle of 2020, we can expect the Yukon and Yukon XL to launch shortly thereafter.
