Bowler Officially Joins The Jaguar Land Rover Family

Bowler was founded in 1985, and for more than three decades, they have turned Land Rovers into even more potent off-roaders.

Now, the two companies will collaborate a lot more efficiently, as Jaguar Land Rover has just purchased Bowler, which joins JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), alongside the SV, Vehicle Personalization and Classic divisions.

Speaking about the acquiring of Bowler, JLR SVO’s Managing Director, Michael van der Sande, said: “For almost 35 years, the Bowler name has stood for innovation and success, with a reputation forged by its participation in the world’s toughest off-road motorsport competitions. It’s exciting that we’re now in a position to participate in and lead the Bowler brand’s future as part of Jaguar Land Rover.”

“At Special Vehicle Operations, we are all eager to start working with our new colleagues at Bowler. Adding the Bowler team’s skills and experience to those of SV, Vehicle Personalization and Classic is a key step in our strategy to create an exciting and diverse portfolio of products and businesses within Special Vehicle Operations”, he added.

The Bowler brand will live on under its new ownership and will continue to support their customers during the transition and after. Furthermore, the British automaker has promised support in helping keep all permanent Bowler employees.

JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations division is responsible for making the luxurious Range Rover SVAutobiography and Velar SVAutobiography, as well as the Range Rover Sport SV, plus a few very fast Jags, such as the F-Pace SVR, F-Type SVR and XE SV Project 8. This means that a hot Bowler Edition of the new-gen Defender could now be in the cards.
