A rare Hennessey Venom GT is looking for a new home over on Cars.com and could be perfect for a speed freak who doesn’t have the patience to wait for the upcoming Venom F5.
The first thing you may notice about the listing is that it doesn’t actually list the car as a Hennessey Venom GT and instead, it is described as a 2010 Lotus Elise. This is because the Venom F5 is, indeed, based on the Elise, but features an extended wheelbase, bespoke panels, and an entirely different powertrain.
One-Off: The Only White Hennessey Venom GT In The US Goes To Auction
The latter consists of a Chevrolet LS7 7.0-liter V8 featuring two turbocharges that’s good for 1,244 hp. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission from the previous-generation Ford GT. As a reminder, the Venom GT was once the world’s fastest production car, with a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h).
The white Venom GT in question is number 9 of just 13 examples ever produced and also happens to be the only one in this color, while it was also shown at the Concept Green during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance back in 2014. Mileage sits at just 745 miles (1,198 km), it is being sold by #1 Choice Auto Sales in Murrysville, Pennsylvania and has an asking price of $1.25 million.
As remarkable as this Venom GT is, the all-new Hennessey Venom F5 promises to take things to an another level. Powering the hypercar will be a bespoke 7.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that during recent dyno tests, delivered no less than 1,817 hp, and Hennessey believes the car could be capable of hitting 311 mph (500 km/h).
