Cadillac is trying to drum up sales with an “immersive luxury-shopping experience” that billed as part personal shopper and part interactive digital showroom.

Known as Cadillac Live, the service allows people to visit a digital showroom and learn more about the company’s vehicles. That’s not too unusual, but the service goes a step further as it features a live agent who is equipped with an iPhone X and a Bluetooth headset. This enables them to talk to potential customers and show them live video of Cadillac vehicles.

Besides being able to give customers a tour of 10 Cadillac vehicles, agents can use a digital interface to show color, wheel and accessory choices. The live agents will be available starting today and sessions can be scheduled or conducted on-demand. Users will also be able to invite others to partake in the experience and this will be helpful for couples seeking a new car.

To accommodate as many people as possible, live agents will be available seven days a week. Between Monday and Thursday, the service will be available between 9 am and 1 am ET. Likewise, the service will be available for 12 hours on Fridays and eight hours daily on the weekend.

After experiencing Cadillac Live, customers in California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Texas can be connected to a local dealer to setup a test drive. This is part of a pilot program and we wouldn’t be surprised if the feature expands in the future, if Cadillac Live is a success.

Speaking of success, Cadillac has high hopes for the service as most customers start researching vehicle purchases online. The company also said research has shown 71% of customers have switched to a competitor’s product after finding their selection process easier.
