The new-gen BMW X3 M is nicely balanced, sticks to the road, looks good and is very powerful, yet Dahler decided to dial up its 3.0-liter inline-six up a notch – or three.
The upgrade, which is available for the latest X4 M as well, has bumped the output to 610 PS (601 hp / 449 kW), whereas the torque now sits at 760 Nm (561 lb-ft). That’s a significant upgrade from the standard model’s 479 PS (472 hp / 352 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft), or 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) in the Competition version.

Along with injecting the engine with more power, Dahler has also removed the speed limiter, so the sporty premium compact SUV can now go all the way up to almost 300 km/h (186 mph). There’s no word on the new 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time, but the standard X3 M Competition does it in 4.1 seconds and the regular variant in 4.2.
On the tuner’s shelves you will also find a new stainless steel exhaust system that was built in-house, as well as a sports suspension kit which brings the body closer to the ground. The 21-inch aluminum or 22-inch ultralight forged wheels, shod in Michelin tires and available in different finishes, round up the changes, but only for now, as Dahler said they will soon launch other parts for the new X3 M and X4 M. These will include a Stage 2 power upgrade, as well as a complete suspension kit and a front apron.
