Not too long ago, a series of spy shots emerged out of Russia allegedly showing a facelifted Genesis G70. These shots, available to view at Kolesa, revealed that the exciting sports sedan will receive similar front and rear fascias to the car manufacturer’s latest models such as the G90, G80, and upcoming GV80.
To provide us with a superb idea of what the new G70 will look like, the publication has stripped away the thick camouflage and rendered the sedan from both the front and rear. The renderings are likely to prove very accurate yet we remain on the fence about the design.

Compared to other Genesis models, the G70 has a much sleeker and more seductive design, dominated by aggressive curves and small design elements that give it a nice bit of presence. Up front, the headlights have been overhauled for these renderings to adopt the same split-headlight design as other new Genesis models. Interestingly, the front grille has been left largely untouched and doesn’t feature the odd triangular design of the G90 and G80.
At the rear, the changes have continued with split taillights. The new fascia and lights certainly make the facelifted G70 look unique. It remains to be seen whether or not shoppers will be receptive to the design alterations.
Alongside the new look, the Genesis G70 will soon be updated with the same turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder as the Sonata N-Line delivering 290 hp and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. This engine will replace the current turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that’s good for 252 hp and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm). Remaining at the top of the range will be the flagship 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
