Fiat Chrysler Automobiles head of design, Ralph Gilles, is selling his low-mileage Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The car, available through Platinum Motorcars, is in superb condition and carries a $139,995 asking price.
Gilles’ Demon is chassis No. 0004 and has just 1,032 miles (1,660 km) under its belt. What’s more, it has never been taken to a drag strip and likely runs just as well as it did when it rolled off the production line.
The Demon is painted in a shade dubbed Octane Red that perfectly suits the fiery character of the Demon while still being very classy and not in-your-face. If we had the opportunity to spec-out out perfect Demon, this is the color we would choose. Inside, the car is bathed in black leather.
Fiery Demon: Demon Owner Gets In Argument With Official As His Car Burns In Drag Strip
Dodge only built 3,300 examples of the Demon, so it’s quite a rare thing and the fact that this one is chassis No. 0004 inevitably adds to its value. Is it worth the $139,995 asking price? We’re not so sure, particularly when you consider that prices for the Demon when it was new started at just $84,995.
However, the Demon certainly has the straight-line performance to back up a $140k asking price. It is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 churning out 840 HP and is good for a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 2.3 seconds. The car will run down the quarter-mile in just 9.65 seconds at 140 mph (225 km/h), faster than even a Bugatti Chiron.
