Jeep has chosen the Liwa Festival in Abu Dhabi to host the Middle East debut of the Gladiator, between December 26 and January 10.

The event is hosted at the foot of the Moreeb Dune, which has a peak that rises 300 meters (984 feet) above sea level and a 50-degree incline. The scenery attracts countless off-road enthusiasts each year, who will now test their knowledge and their rides’ capabilities on a purpose-built Jeep obstacle.

As for the Gladiator that will be on display during the festival, it will boast genuine accessories and parts from Jeep and Mopar.

Furthermore, in order to celebrate the pickup truck’s arrival in the Middle East, the automaker will present the Launch Edition. The Gladiator Launch Edition is based on the Rubicon grade and comes with an 8.4-inch infotainment system, Alpine audio system, keyless entry and an assortment of driver assistance gizmos, including blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, forward facing trailcam, rear park assist, advanced brake assist, full-speed forward collision warning plus, and adaptive cruise control with stop function.

Powering it is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which makes 285 PS (281 hp / 210 kW) and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque and is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Gladiator will launch in Europe as well, albeit in the second half of 2020.
