Tesla chief executive Elon Musk says the eye-catching all-electric Cyberquad ATV should hit the market at the same time as the Cybertruck.
When Tesla presented the Cybertruck to the world last month, it surprised many when a man clad in a black armored suit rode on the stage with a bespoke ATV and proceeded to drive it into the pickup’s bed and plug it in. Shortly after the event concluded, Musk was asked about the ATV on Twitter, where he stated it would initially be sold as an option for the Cybertruck.
Electric Power: Tesla To Sell Two-Seat Electric Cyberquad As An Option For Cybertruck
Over the weekend, Musk confirmed it should come out at the same time as the Cybertruck. It’s unclear if that means it should be delivered solely to Cybertruck owners when ordered as an option in 2021, or if by that date it will also be sold separately as a distinct Tesla product.
Musk went on to add that “electric dirt bikes would be cool to,” giving Tesla fans something else to look forward, though he ruled out the possibility of Tesla making an electric motorcycle for the street.
For now, specifics regarding the ATV remain under wraps, including what powertrain it has. Nonetheless, the presence of at least one small electric motor (and possibly more) should mean it’ll get off the line with impressive pace and have more than enough torque to tackle some very difficult terrain.
We’ll aim to have it come out same time as truck. Two seater electric ATV designed to work with Cybertruck will be fun! Electric dirt bikes would be cool too. We won’t do road bikes, as too dangerous. I was hit by a truck & almost died on one when I was 17.
