Land Rover has expanded the Range Rover Velar family with the introduction of the new R-Dynamic Black Edition.
Based on the D180 R-Dynamic SE, which the best-seller of the range, it is limited to 500 examples. All of them will be available solely in the UK market, where customer deliveries will commence early next year.
Pricing starts at £56,995 ($74,959/€67,747), which makes it £1,125 ($1,480/€1,337) pricier than the base R-Dynamic SE variant, or £499 ($656/€593) per month on a 48-month contract with a deposit of £13,386 ($17,605/€15,911).

Speaking about the model, JLR UK’s Managing Director, Rawdon Glover, said: “The Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black builds on Velar’s sophisticated design package, enhancing it for a customer who is looking for an element of differentiation. We look forward to delivering the first limited editions in early 2020.”
So, what’s so special about it, apart from the limited production number? That would be the enhanced range of features, such as the two exterior paint finishes named Santorini Black and Eiger Grey and 21-inch glossy black alloy wheels, joined by the Adaptive Dynamics, fixed panoramic glass roof and heated steering wheel. The interior sports Ebony perforated grain leather, complemented by the Ebony Morzine headliner.
The most affordable Velar money can buy in Britain has an MSRP of £45,260 ($59,525/€53,799) and comes with standard LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, two-zone climate control, heated front seats, reversing camera and 8-speaker sound system. As for the most expensive one, that would be the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition, which will set you back at least £86,685 ($114,006/€103,039). This model adds 21-inch wheels, active sports exhaust system, fine leather on the inside, Meridian sound system and a few other amenities that make it a head-turner, as well as a 550 PS (542 hp / 405 kW) 5.0-liter supercharged V8.
