Just a couple of months after Subaru revealed the sleek Levorg Prototype, the Japanese automaker has published a couple of teasers providing a glimpse of an STI Sport version.
The car, set to be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon next month, features an eye-catching new bodykit complete with slightly more aggressive front and rear fascias. There is also an obligatory STI badge on the rear and a set of unique wheels.
What’s interesting about the Levorg STI Sport Prototype currently in the works is that Subaru only unveiled the current Levorg STI Sport back in May before starting deliveries in Japan the following month. While the overall shape of the outgoing Levorg is similar to the new model, there are a series of significant visual differences, most notably the redesigned head- and taillights.

Underpinning the new Levorg will be the Subaru Global Platform shared with the Ascent, Impreza, and other Subaru models. Entry-level versions will come outfitted with a turbocharged 1.8-liter boxer engine. It’s likely that the future production-spec Levorg STI Sport will be available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer delivering 296 hp, while a full-blown STI variant is also a possibility down the road.
As with other Subaru models, the new Levorg will be loaded with advanced safety technologies, including the company’s next-generation EyeSight system that includes a new camera as well as four radars mounted at the front and rear.
Subaru will launch the all-new Levorg in Japan in the second half of 2020 as a 2021 model year.
