In time for Christmas, Nissan UK has reduced the ‘On The Road’ price of the Leaf 40kWh model by £1,650 (€1,940) on all grades.
As a result, the starting price of a Nissan Leaf 40kWh is now £26,345 (€34,450) for an Acenta version (including the £3,500/$4,580 Plug-in Car Grant), with range-topping Tekna models available from £29,345 ($38,375).
In addition to the lower prices, the Leaf range has received two enhancements: two rear USB connections added to the reverse panel of the centre console on all versions, and LED fog lights with cornering function, which are standard on Tekna and optional on N-Connecta versions.

The price reduction will come in handy for company car drivers as it places the entire 40kWh Leaf range in the sub-£30k P11D price point. Furthermore, from April 2020 there will be zero percent benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax on electric vehicles, which will rise to one percent from April 2021 and two percent from April 2022.
This extra incentive adds to the existing ones including zero VED, off-peak electricity for charging, substantially lower maintenance costs, free ULEZ and London Congestion Charge entry, and free parking in some towns and cities. In total, Nissan says drivers could save thousands of pounds a year in running costs compared to a petrol or diesel vehicle.
Nissan is expecting a record 2019 for EV sales as the UK market share for all-electric cars has more than doubled year-on-year from 0.6% in 2018 to 1.5% in 2019 in the first 11 months of the year.
Since its introduction in 2010, the Nissan Leaf has achieved 440,000 sales worldwide, 150,000 of which were in Europe and 32,000 in the UK alone.
