A brand new 2020 Audi RS Q8 has been recovered from the Kerkweg canal in the small Dutch town of Reeuwijk-Dorp just 20 days after being delivered.
Local media outlet AD reports that the driver of the Audi lost control of the high-performance SUV and speared into the water. Fortunately, the water wasn’t very deep and the driver was able to escape out of the sunroof without sustaining any injuries.

It’s difficult to determine how much damage the car suffered in the crash. Visually, it doesn’t appear to be in such a bad way although we can see that some damage has been done to the passenger side front suspension and wheel. If the car was resting in the water for a long time, which it appears to have been, there’s a very good chance some water flooded into the cabin. Additionally, the water could have damaged some of the electrical parts of the vehicle.
For the sake of the driver, we hope the SUV was covered by insurance and will be replaced.
Audi’s RS Q8 is quite an impressive machine thanks to its use of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that churns out no less than 591 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, allowing it to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and 124 mph (200 km/h) in 13.7 seconds. It remains to be seen exactly how the driver of this example lost control.
