A special 2020 BMW M5 Edition 35 Years Jahre recently landed at BMW Abu Dhabi Motors, giving us our first chance to look at the car outside of the official press photos published in May 2019.
BMW is building just 350 examples of the special edition to celebrate 35 years of the iconic M5. Of these 350, just 35 units are bound for the United States. All examples are finished in BMW Individual Frozen Dark Grey II paint, which in the photos from last year looked very much like matte black but under showroom lighting appears significantly lighter.
Complementing the special paint are a set of Graphite Grey 20-inch M light-alloy wheels, gold brake calipers, and a carbon fiber roof.
Not Cheap: 2020 BMW M5 Edition 35 Years Has A Gold Trimmed Interior, 617HP And A $129k Price Tag
Much like the exterior, the interior of the BMW M5 Edition 35 Years Jahre is also rather special thanks to the presence of gold carbon fiber across the dashboard and center console. There is also luscious black leather across most interior surfaces, beautiful accent lighting, gold carbon trim of the door panels, and bespoke door sills that denote the limited-edition model.
The special edition also comes complete with the Executive Package and M Driver’s Package as standard that includes soft-close automatic doors, a power rear sunshade, front ventilated seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, front massaging seats, and others.
The M5 Edition 35 Years Jahre is based on the M5 Competition, which means its 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivers 617 hp at 6,000 rpm and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque between 1,800 and 5,800 rpm.
