Cadillac is gearing up to introduce the 2021 Escalade on February 4th, and now the automaker has revealed the redesigned model will star in a short film directed by Spike Lee.
The film is called Anthem and it sounds like a glorified commercial as Cadillac says it “captures the presence, innovation and movement of the next-generation Escalade, with reverence for its more than two decades as a cultural icon.” The company went on to say the video will highlight the model’s 38-inch OLED display which offers “bold imagery, perfect blacks and the largest color range of any automotive display in production today.”
Besides announcing the film, Cadillac released a new teaser image of the Escalade. It shows the model will have a prominent grille which is flanked by slender headlights and vertical LED daytime running lights.

While the teaser image isn’t very revealing, the SUV has already been snapped undisguised. Besides the obvious exterior styling changes, the Escalade will have a unique cabin which is far more upscale than the Chevrolet Tahoe / Suburban and GMC Yukon / Yukon XL.
The aforementioned OLED display is actually separated into multiple sections including a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment system and a vehicle information center. They’re freestanding units which reside on top of elegant wood trim. Elsewhere, there’s a unique center console, upscale door panels and premium switchgear.
While the Escalade’s counterparts are offered with three different engines, the model is slated to have a familiar 6.2-liter V8 that produces 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 460 lb-ft (621 Nm) of torque.
The standard model could eventually be joined by a high-performance variant which is rumored to use the same 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine as the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. It produces 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, and would be a serious improvement of the base SUV.
